What's up folks? I am excited to be back on the mic after a nice break. In fact, it's been 10 months since I last recorded and produced an episode.

And to give you some context, this started last summer. I had a lot of travel, adventure and just personal pursuits coming into focus. I remember coming back from that in the fall and just thinking and feeling like, ah, I gotta get back. Gotta start recording again, get the podcast running.

And I just checked in. I took some space, pun intended, and really listened to my nervous system. It informed me that I just [00:01:00] didn't have space to keep going. I didn't have the drive, the same authentic interest to continue the constant production. In fact, it became too demanding.

So I simply paused. And at first, I felt some stress, some guilt around this. You know, I had competing thoughts, conflicting thoughts, like, ah, we need to record. But the reality, my reality, what I chose was that the lesson was actually to let go. I.

And this continues to show up for me in this season of life. The practice of letting go and how profound it can be, instead of the constant attachment to doing. Letting go is a form of being. And so I've had a lot of great insights around that, some of which I'm gonna share in season three.

And also I just learned the repeat value of pausing. Of taking breaks.

Great TV series [00:02:00] for example, always take breaks in between seasons and it's funny 'cause it frustrates us, right? Even I've felt that there's a couple shows that my wife and I like to watch and I can get frustrated when they wait to release a whole new season for a year.

But I'm learning that for my nervous system, it's actually better. It's actually more healthy to have space in between these consumption cycles.

And then on the creator side, same thing. It feels more healthy to have space in between production cycles. Most creators don't actually give themselves that space or that permission. They, they stay under the constant pressure of producing, producing, producing.

And what I believe that creates is more stress, more pressure, instead of allowing ourselves to step back, to pause to breathe.

I also checked in as I was sitting with this decision last year, and as I often [00:03:00] ask, I inquired, what would nature do here? And what nature does is it honors seasons.

So for example, things start to grow in the spring. Then they flourish in the summer. They transition in the fall. And then they die in the winter. And the cycle repeats itself.

So I intend to create more in alignment with how nature creates. As I move forward with the podcast, I like the idea of having seasons. This is season three. I'm excited to bring some new stuff and some new guests to the show.

Some personal updates from my side.

Since last recording I've turned 40 and it feels great. I wrote a blog post about this. I shared this nice poem that I crafted the morning of my 40th birthday. I feel alive.

And I'm continuing to explore both my inner and outer worlds. Knowing that there's value in both. There's value in the inner game, what I'm experiencing, and then there's value in the outer game , the things [00:04:00] that I'm experiencing collectively with everyone else.

I am also embodying new levels of creation. So just like a child, I lean more into following my energy and curiosity, especially when it peaks and when it drops. And that can be tough because you know, as adults and professionals, we make a lot of commitments and sometimes those commitments keep us into these attachments, these things that don't necessarily serve us.

So in many ways, I. I'm honoring the childlike curiosity, the wonder that wants to create things. As part of that, I've leaned into an exciting new role with Front Row Dads as fractional Chief Transformation Officer .

Many of you know the relationship I have with Front Row Dads. It has been a community that I've been a part of for almost seven years now. It's served me in beautiful ways.

And my [00:05:00] journey with front row dads actually led to space and this podcast. And now it's evolved in a really cool way where I'm helping lead the community while still being a member, still participating. And I get to consciously co-create, which is a whole part of this.

You know, my alignment with John, the founder and FRD team and all the members. It just feels right in this moment. It feels authentic. It feels like a part of my fullest expression.

What else?

I am observing the advent of AI and progressive technology. So I'm definitely going to share some thoughts there in audio and text format as things progress quickly and evolve and mature and...

You know, there's so many things here. It's already being talked about. It's changing the way we work. It's shifting things in technology at exponential rates. So [00:06:00] there's things that are exciting to me. There's things that are scary to me. And I definitely want to explore that both internally and then with other guests and, and hear their voices and, and their perspectives.

And adventure.

Adventure is so in focus for me. I literally just got back from an awesome, epic family adventure to Hawaii. It's a place that Gabrielle, my wife, and I have been wanting to explore for a while now. We did it with our kiddos Everest and Sepia. We had a beautiful experience.

Everything from connection with the ocean and the beach, which just restores us. And you know, my kids just naturally gravitate towards the beach. Then the rest and the recharge of being able to hike the rainforests and observe new landscapes and nature formations was just awesome.

We even did this killer thousand foot incline up the Koko Crater trail and it was so cool to do that as a family. Just watch my kids [00:07:00] persevere, which is one of our family values, and make it to the top of this challenging climb, mostly adults and fit people doing. So that was really, really epic.

And then just in general, travel always fuels my soul in unique ways. I usually come back feeling nourished, rested, and ready to get back into my normal routine and my normal cadences. So feeling really grateful for that.

We've got some other awesome adventures lined up, and I have some retreats I'm leading through front row dads. I have some personal exploration I'm gonna do and I'll be sharing a lot of that as it unfolds.

That feels like a good overview. You know, I wanted this to be a quick check in, just an update. You know, kind of why I, I took a pause and what new things are evolving. What's in focus for me, what's real for me?

I think that's a great place to wrap up this episode. Is that I'm committed to really honoring the human [00:08:00] experience in season three and going deeper. And while I mentioned AI and technology, that's just a facet of what we experience today. And what interests me more is the human experience, the organic experience of being human. And making sure we preserve that as we move into, you know, crazy times.

So that's what you're gonna get. More reflections, more awareness, and more focus on the real human experience. I look forward to continuing the audio journey with you, and I appreciate your attention.
