Anger, Fear and Sadness are the most powerful emotions we experience as humans. Aside from Joy, they are also the most common emotions we experience.

Here’s a quick index of how to better understand these emotions:

  • Anger means something wants to change.
  • Fear means something wants to be known.
  • Sadness means something wants to be let go of.
  • Joy means something wants to be celebrated.
Considerations

Create more awareness around these emotions by asking yourself the following questions:

  • When you’re angry, pause and ask, “What wants to change right now?”
  • When you’re scared, pause and ask, “What wants to be known right now?”
  • When you’re sad, pause and ask, “What wants to be let go of right now?”
  • When you’re joyful, pause and ask, “What wants to be celebrated right now?”
