We Often Need Less

Most humans have a lot of things in their lives. They have a lot of thoughts, commitments, relationships, belongings and overall chaos. Chaos is creation. So it’s fair to say we create a lot in our lives.

We are much better at creating than destroying. It’s easier for us to add than to subtract. We prefer to hold onto things instead of releasing them.

This is why we always seem to have [and want] more.

We take on more than we can handle. We say more words than are needed. We buy more things to feel happy. We say “yes” more than “no.”

We are conditioned for more.

Yet we rarely create space to be with more. Our space is the same as our resources – time, energy and money. We only have so many resources to operate. When we exceed these resources, we start operating under stress.

Stress is an indication that we need less.

In most areas of our lives we don’t need more. We don’t need to add, we need to subtract. We don’t need to hold on, we need to release.

We don’t need stress, we need less.
